Free project management software for Windows called Open Workbench is available here.
A tutorial guide that should take you as far as you need for school projects, Introduction to Open Workbench v6.doc is available here. When the document is displayed, you can download a copy from the File menu in Word format and edit it as you wish for use within your school. The summary at the end of the tutorial guide contains recommended procedures for planning a project and for tracking or controlling a project.
